This is a device that deals with outlets and high voltage! Please, DON'T MESS WITH IT if you don't understand what you are doing! If you do, though, you probably will notice that it's a so-standard LM78XX/LM79XX power supply unit, just as they do in Eurorack. The only difference here is that the system runs off +/-8 volts, so XX would be 08, not 12 like in euro. You can find out about how it works in the video below - i used to make a show about this system, called SYNTHCRAP. It got abandoned for a bunch of reasons. Also: not entirely proud of my english on camera, i made so many mistakes while speaking - it makes me feel awful, hahah. Hope you get the sense of it, though.
